Dresden Music Festival with Julien Quentin (CANCELLED)
CANCELLED
Also in the 2020 festival season, Schloss Wackerbarth will again be the stage for exceptional young musicians. The violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing, who released her highly acclaimed debut CD in 2018, is the start. The virtuoso Norwegian, who is now in demand on the international music platforms, enthusiastically discovers works far from the well-known repertoire and makes strong for the music of their homeland. A close collaboration characterized by four world premieres and a joint CD has also linked them with the Chinese composer Tan Dun since 2010. This exciting versatility is also reflected in Hemsing’s festival concert, for which she, together with Julien Quentin on the piano, combines Tan Dun’s complex and exciting sounds with those of Brahms, Grieg and Brustad.
